Basic Hot Buttered Grits

4 servings ready in: under 30 minutes

Ingredients 2 cups water 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup quick grits 2 Tbs butter Directions Bring water to a boil in a medium pot. Add grits and salt and bring to a boil. Reduce

heat to low, cover with a lid and simmer for 5-7 minutes until thick and creamy. Remove from heat, stir in butter and serve.


Note: Look for quick grits at the store -- they will make serving up this dish even easier. Traditionally a Southern comfort food, grits are made from dried corn (hominy) from which the hull and germ have been removed.
